NYT inEducation Home

New York Times inEducation and the Learning Network provide instructional tools for teaching with the New York Times Online and are available to all students, faculty, and staff as part of the Libraries' subscription to the New York Times Online. These sites provide:
 

  • Over 1,000 resources published each year to ensure materials are relevant and up to date
  • Lesson plans
  • News and geography quizzes
  • Student opinion questions
  • Picture prompts and graph prompts
  • Current events conversations
  • Writing curriculum
  • Contests
  • Professional development webinars


To take full advantage of these resources, you will need to set up or renew your complimentary academic pass to the New York Times Online as well as create a separate personal account for New York Times inEducation. Here's how:
 

  1. To set up or renew your academic pass to the New York Times Online, follow these instructions. To access the New York Times Online, go to nytimes.com, click Log In, click Continue with Google, then log in using your Georgia Southern email address and MyGS credentials.
     
  2. To create a personal account for New York Times inEducation, go to nytimesineducation.com, click Register, then complete the registration form using your Georgia Southern University email address. Be sure to retain the password you create to log into your inEducation account in the future. To access the New York Times inEducation, go to nytimesineducation.com, click Log In, then log in using your Georgia Southern email address and and the password you created.
