Occasionally, you may see an error message of "Looping - SP redirecting back to the login point" when logging into Discover @ Georgia Southern or when using one of the Libraries' EBSCO databases. Here is an example of what this error looks like:

To fix this error, complete the following steps then try logging into the resource again:

  • Update your browser to the current version. 
    Here is how to update the Chrome browser:
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. In the top right corner of the browser, click the 3-dot More menu.
  3. Click Help.
  4. Click About Google Chrome.
  5. Click Update Google Chrome. If you can't find this button, then you're running the latest version.
  6. Restart Chrome.
  • Clear your browser cache. 
    Here is how to clear your cache in the Chrome browser:
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. In the top right corner of the browser, click the 3-dot More menu.
  3. Hover over More tools and click Clear browsing data.
  4. From the Time range dropdown, select All time.
  5. Check all the boxes.
  6. Click Clear data.
  7. Restart Chrome.
  • Restart your browser.

By following these instructions, you should be able to resolve the "Looping - SP redirecting back to the login point" error message. If these instructions do not resolve the error, contact the GS Libraries for additional help.
